talk first, sort later
i’ve always wished note-taking could be more natural. between typing on my laptop or trying to catch thoughts on the go, it’s always felt clunky. i’m a talker, not a typer, and even though i can type fast, it’s never really been how my brain likes to process things.
that’s why voicenotes caught my attention. it’s a simple ai-powered note app that lets me speak my thoughts, transcribes them instantly, and gives me tools to turn those rambles into something useful. i’ve been testing it out for a while now. and yes, they’re sponsoring the video, but if you know me, you know that doesn’t change what i actually say
“voicenotes lets me brain dump the way my brain actually works by talking it out first.”
love this
- record, pause, resume, done you can hit record from the browser or your phone, speak your note, pause if needed, and pick up where you left off. it saves the audio and creates the transcript right away. plus, you can share or download the audio if you want to
- ai does something useful for once after recording, i can turn a note into a summary, to-do list, email, tweet, or even a video idea. all based on what i just said. feels like a shortcut i didn’t know i needed
- tagging is clean and flexible i can tag notes with whatever i want “productivity,” “stoicism,” “random ideas”, and pin tags to the sidebar. it makes digging through voice dumps actually manageable
not a fan of this
- title generator is hit or miss some of the ai-generated titles are off. the regenerate button helps, but it still feels like a rough draft most of the time
- shared links feel unfinished you can share a note with someone, but the shared view is pretty plain. no styling, no preview, just the basics
- free version cuts you off quick you’ll hit a limit on recording time and ai access unless you upgrade. the individual plan is $14.99 per month or $89.99 per year, so it’s not outrageous — just something to factor in

last thing i’ll say
this is the first time a note app actually matches how i think. voicenotes feels like talking to yourself, but in a way that’s productive and searchable. i’ve tried a ton of tools, this one stuck
still wondering? here’s what folks usually ask
can i use voicenotes on desktop and mobile?
yep. it works on web, iOS, and android
does it save the audio too?
yes. you get both the recording and the written version
can i organize my notes?
totally. you can tag them, star your favorites, and pin the tags you use most
what kind of ai stuff can it do?
you can generate summaries, to-dos, tweets, emails, or even content ideas based on your note
is the upgrade worth it?
if you’re using it regularly, yeah. it starts at $14.99 per month or $89.99 a year

i only share what’s actually worth your time
